Crosswort

Crosswort is a perennial herb of deep, well-drained neutral or calcareous soils, typically occurring in ungrazed grassland, open scrub, hedge banks, woodland rides and edges, and on waysides (W. R. Meek in Preston et al, 2002).

In Norfolk, Crosswort is usually found in grassy places - banks and roadside verges in particular. There seem to be two large centres of population: in the southern Claylands and an area in north of the county centered to the south of Sheringham. There are several clusters and widely scattered records elsewhere.
