Oblong-leaved Sundew

Oblong-leaved Sundew is an insectivorous, rosette-forming perennial herb found on wet heaths, valley- and raised bogs, and in a band at the edge of oligotrophic lochs, most often on acidic peat over which water continuously seeps. It is rarely found in Sphagnum, and then only when Sphagnum forms a fringe around bog pools (F. J. Rumsey in Preston et al, 2002).

In Norfolk, Oblong-leaved Sundew is confined to acid areas of wet heath and bog. It is now often only in small patches in very small areas of suitable habitat, although numbers fluctuate from year to year. Like Great Sundew (Drosera anglica) it is much rarer than Round-leaved Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia).
